DomCo Electronics

Throwee Pro Environmental Sensor

DomCo supported Throwee Pro from concept through production preparation, developing a compact environmental sensor for calibrated local monitoring, offline-first operation, and smart-home integration.

Production-intent Throwee Pro environmental sensor enclosure.

Challenge

Accurate sensing in a compact enclosure

Throwee Pro needed reliable temperature, humidity, pressure, VOC, and IAQ measurements in a small form factor while keeping data local, supporting calibration, and fitting into smart-home and technical environments.

Engineering Approach

Integrated hardware, firmware, and local software

DomCo led electrical PCB design, mechanical enclosure development, embedded firmware, Wi-Fi connectivity, local web interface behavior, and smart-home integration planning for Home Assistant, Homebridge, MQTT, and local API workflows. The engineering scope covered prototype iteration, validation, and manufacturing preparation.

Outcome

Production-ready design and working prototypes

The project progressed from concept through design, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing prep. DomCo delivered working prototypes and a production-ready design package supporting calibrated temperature, humidity, pressure, VOC, and IAQ monitoring with local-first operation. Integration planning includes Home Assistant, Homebridge-based Apple Home workflows, MQTT, a local API, Thread, and future Matter support without requiring cloud services.
